Willie Colón collaborator sues over 'Tras La Tormenta' composition royalties

A songwriter who contributed to the creation of the salsa classic 'Tras La Tormenta' has filed a lawsuit claiming the recognition and royalties he says he has not received in decades.

A collaborator on the composition of «Tras La Tormenta» has filed a lawsuit against Willie Colón demanding authorship credit and royalty payments he claims were denied to him for decades.

The plaintiff says he contributed to the lyrics and/or music of the salsa classic without receiving formal recognition or financial compensation. The lawsuit covers royalties accumulated throughout the song's entire commercial life.

Willie Colón's legal team has not issued any statement. The case could take months to resolve in court.
